Our parent company is a property owner group with a large blocks of flats portfolio. The pressures and expectations upon managing agents are well understood by us. We appreciate that building insurance is only part of a managing agents role and that the managing agent needs to be certain that their broker has the specialist skill and understanding to minimise problems for the agent. Many general brokers will not have the same understanding of property management and service charge problems that we have as a result of our ability to draw on such expertise from other group companies. Many staff within our group have previously worked in the block management industry. We not only understand the importance of competitive premiums but also the obligations on managing agents and, therefore, the commercial requirement for attractive management rebates for portfolios.
